Ross also offers mentoring to poets, either established or starting out, and in that capacity has developed very positive ongoing relationships with a number of poets, some of whom have first collections about to be published as a result. He is happy to meet in person if possible, but is also happy to meet on Zoom or the phone.

Rates (as at March 2023)
- Editing/assessing: $80/hr or $60/hr concession (for students, pensioners and those un- or under-employed). Time taken to edit a poetry manuscript is anything from three to six hours. To assess a manuscript usually takes two to three hours.
- Mentoring: $80/hr or $60/hr concession (for students, pensioners and those un- or under-employed). Mentoring typically involves Ross in an hour’s reading and emailing and an hour of discussion once a fortnight.
